Principal Valerie Robinson
Valerie Robinson has more than 25 years of experience as a professional communicator and has enjoyed award-winning careers in journalism, education and public relations/marketing/special events. She holds degrees in English and political science from the University of Southern Mississippi.
For the first 10 years of her career, she worked as a reporter and editor for weekly and daily newspapers in Mississippi and Louisiana. This experience provided her with a valuable insight into how to work with the media. She believes in being straightforward and honest and providing information to help reporters produce quality stories while gaining positive awareness for her clients. Over the years, she has trained many young PR professionals to forge relationships in media for the benefit of clients.
For five years, Ms. Robinson led intergovernmental relations, media relations, community outreach, advertising, customer service and employee communications at the RTA, where she garnered more than 35 industry awards for her employer. She has continued to work with the agency on a variety of projects since she opened her consulting firm, which provides marketing and public relations services to the public, private and non-profit sectors.
Ms. Robinson is also a respected civic leader, working with several neighborhood, redevelopment and arts-based organizations. She serves as president of two non-profits and sits on the boards of others, often assisting them with public relations and fund raising.
